Biodiversity Loss

Why is it important?

All in The Balance

Biodiversity is the variety of life in our world, it is what links organisms together. With biodiversity there is a balance in nature. However there is a problem called biodiversity loss which causes an imbalance. This global problem will only hurt the earth. By preventing biodiversity loss we protect our home.

Main Reasons for Biodiversity loss

  1. Invasive Species

  2. Any species can become an invasive species if they go to a habitat that is not their natural habitat. What makes them so dangerous is that since the invasive species have no preadators, their population will keep on growing which will drive most of the native species to extinction. There have been a number of dangerous invasive species that have been on the news recently. In the Carribean sea there have been lionfish that have been eating fish that even haven't been discovered

  3. Human Interaction

  4. For years humans have shared the planet with other species and use the earth's resources to live and grow, but now we have taken the Earth for granted. We humans have been overusing the resources the earth have given us and give nothing back in return. When we build our cities, we destroy habitats that belong to other species which interupts the balance in nature. We hunt animals down until their entire species is extinct just to earn a quick buck. We also pollute the world by letting or trash and waste be placed anyuwhere we feel like it and never caring how much pollutent gases is in our air.

  5. Climate Change

  6. Because of the pollutants gases that filled the air, the climate of the Earth keep on rapidly changing. This affects many species, as some loss their homes to the change in climate. As the artic keeps melting rapidly because of global warming, many artic animals like polar bears are losing a lot of space to live. Meanwhile other species move to new areas that are not their natural habitat, driving out the native species to extinction. Climate change even affects us humans. As more ice caps are being melted, the water level of the oceans keeps increasing. If this keeps happening then most of our countries will be under the sea.

Leave native plants undisturbed or replant native plants that have been dug up from the ground. With the advancement in technology, more technology can be created to make monitaring threatened specimen over an area. Not only that, technology that can collect data and use mapping technology. the information that is collected can use the databases to expand and focus on identifying important pattens and trends. Such as recognizing any changes or any harmed Not only that, technology that can collect data and use mapping technology. the information that is collected can use the databases to expand and focus on identifying important pattens and trends. Such as recognizing any changes or any harmed - specimen that need medical attention. Given the technology of the century, remote controlled smapling. With this, instead of invading or injuring specimen, remote controlled sampling can collect samples by sensors.
